Privacy and Cookie Policy

Who we are
TradeCalcs is an independent website providing free calculators for UK trades and DIYers, operated from the United Kingdom. For any privacy question, or to exercise the rights described below, contact hello@tradecalcs.tech.
What we collect
Calculator inputs: nothing. Every calculator on this site is client-side JavaScript. The numbers you enter are processed by your own browser and discarded when you close the tab. They are never transmitted to us, which means we could not disclose them even if asked.
Server logs. Like almost every website, our web server records standard access logs: IP address, browser user-agent, the page requested, referring page and a timestamp. These exist for security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting. They are rotated automatically on a short retention cycle and are not used to build profiles or identify individuals.
No account data. There is no sign-up, no login, no newsletter and no contact form on this site, so we hold no names, email addresses or payment details.
Cookies and advertising
TradeCalcs sets no cookies of its own. Adverts keep the calculators free, and our advertising partner — Google, through AdSense — may set cookies or use similar technologies to serve adverts, measure their performance and, where you have given consent, personalise them.
You can read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and control or switch off personalised advertising at adssettings.google.com. Where required by UK and EU law, a consent banner appears before any non-essential cookie is set, and you may decline. Declining does not restrict any calculator — the whole site works identically either way.
Analytics
If analytics are enabled, they are used only in aggregate: which pages are popular, roughly which country visitors are in, and which calculators to build next. We do not sell, rent or share analytics data, and it is not combined with anything that would identify you.
Third parties
Pages may link to external sites such as gov.uk, British Standards references or manufacturer documentation. Those sites have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for their practices. We do not embed third-party trackers, social widgets or fonts loaded from external servers.
Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to access personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. Because we hold essentially no personal data beyond short-lived server logs, the practical scope of these rights here is very small — but any request sent to hello@tradecalcs.tech will be answered within 30 days.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled a request, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
This site is aimed at tradespeople and homeowners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data relating to children.
Changes to this policy
Any change to this policy will appear on this page with a revised date above. Material changes — for example, adding a new category of processing — will be described in the text rather than made silently.
